RIP MARK CLARK (Horley BC)

WSCSMBA are sorry to hear of the passing of Mark Clark.

Mark was an excellent bowler and a popular member at Horley BC and around West Sussex and Surrey.

Mark was a member of the Horley team that won the County Mixed 4s 2024/25.

Our thoughts are with Denise and all Mark's family, friends and Horley members at this difficult time.

The new Short Mat Bowls season is about to begin — and we want to help clubs welcome more people through the door!

Short Mat Bowls is a great way to get active, meet people, make new friends and have fun — whatever your age or ability.

So, today sees the launch of

ROLL INTO BETTER HEALTH

A brand-new initiative designed to help ESMBA clubs recruit and retain new members and give more people in their local communities the opportunity to discover Short Mat Bowls.

And the best bit? The support pack is completely FREE to all ESMBA registered clubs!

We've put together practical ideas and resources to help clubs get started, including:

Ideas of who to approach in your local community
Guidance on how and where to promote your club
Tips on how to approach potential new members
Ideas for running successful Open Days and taster sessions
Promotional materials and posters to display around your local area
Ideas to help turn that first visit into a new and lasting club member

The Promotional pack shows you that it doesn’t need to be costly or complicated, sometimes all it takes is an invitation, a friendly welcome and the opportunity for someone to have a go!

Let's make this season the season we roll out Short Mat Bowls to even more people.

If you're an ESMBA registered club and would like your FREE ROLL INTO BETTER HEALTH promotional pack, simply click hear, to be directed to apply.

https://www.esmba.co.uk/roll-into-better-health/

We'll send the pack directly to you, ready for you to use in your own local recruitment campaign.

Let's get more people through the doors, onto the mats and rolling into better health!

I was introduced to Short Mat Bowls in 2005, and have been "hooked" ever since! I have played for my local club (Cowfold) ever since. I have represented my County West Sussex at all levels. I have been my club secretary since 2006 and in 2016 I became County Secretary & Membership Secretary. I recently took on the task of building this website with no previous experience, although my background included working with computers!
