What is ‘safeguarding’, and why is it important to us?
SGO = Safeguarding Officer, DBS = Disclosure and Barring Service.
Safeguarding is the protection of a persons health and wellbeing.
Indeed, health and wellbeing, places our members in an environment free from harm, abuse, and neglect.
In addition, safeguarding children, young people, and adults is a collective responsibility within our membership.
Moreover, a key part of safeguarding is spreading the message about keeping adults & young people safe.
As well as building a culture of always acting in the best interest of all members.
Furthermore, from 2028 it will be compulsory for all affiliated clubs have a DBS cleared SGO.
