West Sussex view on Boris' update 14-Jun-2021:
We can continue on the present protocols which are on a club's risk assessment. All playing Short Mat in their club should have gained safe bowls status. Each mat is considered as a "bubble" of six so that triples can be played, the only problem is marking touchers, measuring, not visiting the head and players must stick to 2m social distancing. This will be until 19 July.
Internal competitions are now permitted as long as the rule of 6 is maintained. In order to ensure that this was the case the 12 hour rule was introduced and the rationale is in the below link.
NOTE: To All Clubs without Safe Status in the County
Even if you meet to have a fun, social bowl with your members there will be protocols to follow. The previous Safe Status applies to absolutely everyone who wants to bowl and we strongly recommend that all clubs have completed the application forms to be able to return to bowls.
If you need help to complete the Safe Status forms please contact Jean Armour-Milne.
Extract from ESMBA March Route-map statement :
No earlier than 21st June 2021 it is hoped all limits on social contact are removed and short mat bowls can return to normal enabling all bowlers to make informed personal decisions about social contact. This will be reviewed when more information is received.
It must be remembered this is only a guide and can change dependent on Government's interpretation of the most recent data.
Also, to return to bowls Clubs must hold " Safe Bowls" status. Anyone found not adhering to ESMBA policy could face further action.
To All Ex-County Players
Would all Ex-County Players who hold a County Shirt kindly return them via a Management Committee Member or via their Club Delegate at the AGM to be held on 28th July.
ESMBAs “Route Map” to “return to bowls”.
